BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — A family who just moved back to Bakersfield received a shocking welcome when their truck containing all of their belongings was stolen.
Eric French moved with his family the day after Christmas. They parked their 26-foot U-Haul in an RV lot at the apartment complex they were moving into and brought inside what they needed for the night.
The truck was missing the next morning.
The family's U-Haul was found empty and abandoned Monday on State Road, in the area of Highway 99 and Olive Drive.
"Our Christmas presents were in there for our kids, our clothing, our kitchen, I mean, everything," French said over the weekend, before his empty U-Haul was discovered.
"Material items, those can be replaced, but the ones that are sentimental to people is very, very difficult to deal with," French continued.

Don't let him fool you. He is moving BACK or Bakersfield after getting fired fom his job. He fired many, many people when he was hired at his new job. now the table was turned on him when HE was fired and moved back. The people he fired had and are having hard times. One lost a house, so now I guess they are even huh? Karma keeps things equal. Not to mention how he fired the Desert Arc Foundation as the cleaning crew that had been doing that job for 12 years. He thought 'it was not appropriate' for them to be there because they were mentally challenged. Now he has no house, and no job. As I said, karma keeps things equal. I hope he remembers that in the future.
I hope this stupid morons who took the belongings of the French Family will face the music.Â
This is really sad. Everything stolen for some person to make a few bucks most likely for drugs. Very very sad. I guess these theives don't care about anything except their own self graification. But I am sure these same theives, if they were caught,  would be the first to cry fowl and tell us how mistreated they were. Hopefully the family will get some help to replace what they lost. I am not sure they will ever get over what it did to them menatally.

This is one reason we moved this place. It is not safe anymore no mater what part of town your in. I lived on Panama Lane for 5 yrs then moved to crappy oilday for 7 yrs. We got out in 2010 & moved to TX. What a way to welcome new ppl to Bakersfield.
Bakersfield, as well as the rest of the world, is becoming a big azz ghetto.................................
