Fatal crash closes railroad crossings
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — The California Highway Patrol is investigating a train crash that killed a woman Wednesday morning in northwest Bakersfield.

Officers say a freight train struck the woman's car around 4 a.m. near Hageman and Allen roads. Investigators are still trying to piece together exactly what happened and why 22-year-old Genevieve Alysse Gamboa was driving on the tracks.

The impact of the crash dragged Gamboa's car a half mile.

The railroad crossings at Reina Road and Olive Drive were closed for several hours.
