BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — A burned-out house that sat abandoned for years in the Rosedale area was finally torn down Tuesday.

The small house had parts of the walls missing and a large area of the roof gone or sagging down. The inside was heaped with burned debris and trash, and more charred material was stacked up outside.

Neighbors complained for years to Kern County Code Compliance, but nothing got done until Eyewitness News investigated earlier this month. The delay was partly caused by a miscommunication between county departments, officials said.
