Exclusive interview: Lavabit.com shutdown 'lesser of two evils'
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) - Ladar Levison, founder of Lavabit.com, says he shut down his secure e-mail service after facing pressure from the federal government.

In an interview with Eyewitness News anchor Rob Finnerty, Levison says his site was used by NSA leaker Edward Snowden, but that they had no access to any information he sent or received. Levison couldn't go into the exact reason why he shut down his site, but says it was "the lesser of two evils."

See the attached video for more from the interview, including why he says there has been a "real erosion of privacy rights for average Americans here in the U.S."
