Detectives investigate hunter's shooting death

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — A hunter died when his partner slipped and fell, pulling the trigger on his rifle and shooting his him Saturday, the Kern County Sheriff's Office said.

The shooting remains under investigation, with homicide detectives assigned to the case.

The coroner identified the victm as 27-year-old Ker Her of Clovis.

An autopsy is scheduled to determine his cause of death.

Her had died by the time deputies reached the scene in a rural, mountainous area 20 miles southeast of Lake Isabella. The call came in around 2:11 p.m.
