BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — Driving under the influence and street racing are being looked at as possible causes of a crash Tuesday night on Ming Avenue that seriously injured one man and led to the arrest of another.

The two-car crash happened just before 9 p.m. in the westbound lanes of Ming Avenue between Ashe and Gosford roads.

The alleged drunk driver took out a mailbox and then crashed into a house in the 7200 block of Ming after plowing through another car, according to city fire Capt. Brian May.

The victim driver was taken to a hospital for treatment of moderate injuries. The alleged drunk driver was not hurt. He was arrested by Bakersfield police, said May.

Police didn't release the name of the alleged drunk driver.
