Crash with pickup seriously injures motorcyclist

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — A 36-year-old man suffered major injuries Friday afternoon when the motorcycle he was riding collided head-on with a pickup.

The crash happened around 4:20 p.m. on Norris Road just west of Diane Drive. Investigators with the California Highway Patrol said the pickup's driver slowed to make a turn into a parking lot, failed to see the motorcycle and turned directly into its path.

The motorcycle driver, identified as Michael Cudd, was thrown from the bike and landed on the pickup's windshield. Cudd suffered major injuries and was taken to Kern Medical Center for treatment.

The pickup's driver, identified as 27-year-old Daniel Geer, was cited for reportedly driving on a suspended license.
