CASTAIC, Calif. (AP) — Authorities say a burned body found near a Los Angeles County lake isn't a missing college student but the victim of an unrelated murder.

Sheriff's Capt. Mike Parker says Wednesday the remains found last week near Castaic Lake aren't those of 19-year-old Bryce Laspisa.

Parker says they belong to Lamondre Miles, a Los Angeles man killed in Hawthorne on Sept. 3. Investigators believe his body was dumped and burned a day later. Three people have been arrested.

Miles's body was found when firefighters doused a small wildfire.

Meanwhile, the search continues for Laspisa, a Sierra College student who vanished last month while traveling from Northern California to visit his parents in Orange County. His SUV was later found on its side at the lake 40 miles northwest of Los Angeles.
