CHiPs for KiDs toy drive now underway

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — The annual CHiPs for KiDs Toy Drive started Monday and runs through Dec. 12.

The California Highway Patrol said it aims to make the holidays brighter for disadvantaged and hospitalized children in Kern County. The public can help by bringing a new unwrapped toy to the CHP Office on Buck Owens Boulevard, Motor City in the auto mall, The Bakersfield Californian, Keller Williams on Olive Drive or the United Way.

The CHP will be at Motor City 5 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 7, and 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, to collect toys. Officers will provide free hot chocolate, food and candy canes during a portion of those days, and Motor City will offer a $10 service credit to donors.
