BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — Businesses in one part of northeast Bakersfield were evacuated Thursday for a bomb squad investigation.

A black bag was left in Cindy's Restaurant, at Oswell and Auburn streets, just after 3 p.m. Someone found it suspicious and called police, Sgt. Joe Grubbs said.

The scene was cleared around 5:30, without police saying the bag posed a danger.
