Anthony Augustus Jefferson, 45, is accused of posting job openings online for personal assistants, models and actresses. He allegedly identified himself as an employee or talent scout for major television networks, and he allegedly used email addresses and business trademarks that appeared legitimate.
Jefferson allegedly convinced female victims, primarily from the Los Angeles area, to travel to Bakersfield in order in order to interview and audition for film-industry jobs.
He's also accused of coercing some women into performing sex acts and getting them to pay for hotel rooms and other items.
An arrest warrant was issued over the weekend for Jefferson, alleging he committed sexual battery by false pretense, false impersonation, indecent exposure and petty theft.
Anyone with information on Jefferson's whereabouts is asked to call Bakersfield police at (661) 326-3870.
