Bakersfield man facing sexual abuse, child porn allegations

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — Police arrested a 34-year-old man Tuesday who is accused of ongoing sexual abuse of two children.

Santiago Hernandez was taken into custody after officers found him in the 300 block of Industrial Street, police said.

The investigation apparently started Tuesday after detectives assigned to the Special Victims Unit heard allegations of child molestation and possession of child pornography.

Police withheld details of the alleged crimes, but they said Hernandez was arrested on suspicion of lewd and lascivious act with a child, sodomy with a child under 18, sodomy with a child under 16, production of child pornography, and sexual exploitation of children.

The investigation is ongoing, and police are asking anyone with helpful information on Hernandez's activities to call the case detective at (661) 326-3921.
