Bakersfield man accused of trying to sell stolen oilfield equipment

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — Kern County detectives busted a man who tried to sell a stolen oilfield drill bit.

Daniel Ince, 31, allegedly tried to sell the drill bit to U.S. Bit and Tool in Oklahoma. The bit was determined to be stolen from Cesmat Service Co. of Bakersfield.

Detectives set up a sting, in which they posed as U.S. Bit and Tool trying to buy the drill bit. They arrested Ince after meeting and confirming the stolen bit.

Ince is suspected of grand theft and possession of stolen property.
