Bakersfield gang member guilty of murder

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) - A gang member was found guilty Thursday for a 2012 double shooting.

Gary Alton Asberry was convicted of first-degree murder and attempted murder.

Asberry, 20 at the time, along with two other gang members, shot brothers Andrew and Christopher Gonzales after a verbal altercation near the Fastrip store on 34th Street. Christopher Gonzales died.

The Kern County prosecutor's office didn't say what the status is for the other gang members involved in the shooting.
