Man wanted in church parking lot shooting

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — The Kern County Sheriff's Office released a photo Wednesday of a man suspected of attempted murder.

Johnny Reyes, 47, allegedly shot another man several times last Friday and ran over the man, whose name was withheld, with his pickup on the 2200 block of Camino Real, in a church parking lot across the street from Heritage Park.

The sheriff's office hasn't said what motivated the shooting.

Reyes should be considered "armed and dangerous," and he has made threats against law enforcement officers, the sheriff's office said.

Anyone with knowledge of Reyes' whereabouts is asked to call the sheriff's office at (661) 861-3110 or the Secret Witness hotline at 322-4040. Anonymous text tips can be sent to TIP411 (847411). Type the keyword "KCSO" prior to the message.
