BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) - A man and his minor son, traveling from out of state, were robbed at gunpoint at an east Bakersfield motel.

According to the Kern County Sheriff's Office, the victims were traveling from Arkansas, when they heard a knock on their door at the Motel 6 on Brundage Lane, near Weedpatch Highway Thursday night.

The man answered the door, and spoke with a woman. Two Hispanic men then forced their way into the room, and pulled a small handgun on the victims, deputies said.

A struggle ensued between the adult victim and one of the suspects, and the second suspect pointed the gun at the victim's son's head, which prompted the man to comply, investigators said.

Authorities said the robbers took the victim's wallet and keys to his vehicle, before taking off in the SUV.

The stolen SUV is described as a Honda Pilot, maroon in color, with an Arkansas license plate that features a woodpecker. Part of that plate reads "ZR51."

Deputies are looking for four suspects: a white woman, who was seen driving the stolen vehicle out of the motel parking lot; two Hispanic men, and a Hispanic woman.

The sheriff's office is asking anyone with information on the robbery to call their office at (661)861-3110, or Secret Witness at (661)322-4040.
