Accused pot shop shooter makes court debut

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — One of the suspects in a pot shop robbery and murder was in Kern County court Tuesday, but his arraignment was postponed a week.

A judge also denied bail for 32-year-old Aaron Patrick Burris.

He and 16-year-old Miracle Jackson are suspected of shooting two men July 17 inside the First Reliable medical marijuana collective on Chester Avenue. The men killed were 23-year-old Devin Daniels, of Bakersfield, and 55-year-old Tony Conrad Sherman, of Los Angeles.

Burris was captured Friday night in Oildale, but Jackson remains at large. Police also arrested five other people Friday night on suspicion of being an accessory and participation in a criminal street gang.
