3 suspects arrested in elderly woman's beating death
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. -- Hours after releasing the names and pictures of three teens accused in Wednesday's beating death of 81-year-old Dorothy Pauline Session, all were in custody.
Kern County Sheriff Donny Youngblood thanked the public in a news release for all the assistance provided during the investigation.
The teenaged girls were the first to be arrested, less than an hour after the suspect descriptions had been released to the public Saturday afternoon. Angelique Nash, 17, and Katila Nash, 15, were taken into custody around 4 p.m. near a motel on the 3600 block of Chester Lane.
The girls were taken to sheriff's headquarters and questioned before being booked into juvenile hall.
Detectives continued to search for 17-year-old David Moses. By midnight, investigators learned Moses would possibly turn himself in through a family pastor. Around 1 a.m. Sunday, the pastor delivered Moses to juvenile hall, where he was arrested.
All three are expected to face charges of murder, burglary and conspiracy.
Session was beaten to death in her home on the 1500 block of Camino Sierra after her attackers entered through an unlocked back door. Nothing was apparently stolen.
Neighbors reported seeing people walking through the neighborhood before the attack, knocking on doors to see if anyone was home.
