WASCO, Calif. -- Authorities are investigating a drive-by shooting in Wasco that left three men injured, one in critical condition.

Kern County Sheriff's deputies said the victims were hanging out Thursday night in a vacant lot on the 1000 block of 14th Street. That's when two or three men pulled up in a dark-colored full-sized pickup and began shooting.

Two men, 19-year-old Jose Lopez and 21-year-old Richard Adame, were taken to Delano Regional Medical Center with minor gunshot wounds, according to the sheriff's office. One was shot in the toe and the other in the ankle.

A third man, 25-year-old Jeremy Pearson, was shot in the back and managed to run to his home on 15th Street. He was taken to Kern Medical Center, reportedly in critical condition.

No arrests have been made, and the sheriff's office hasn't released a description on the men.

The sheriff's office said thee shooting could be gang-related.
