A single vehicle crash southwest of Bakersfield kills one woman and sends six others to the hospital with serious injuries.

Around 4:30 p.m. on Friday, a mini van traveling south on Interstate 5, just south of Highway 43, lost control while driving 70 to 80 miles per hour and hit the center divider. The van rolled over, ejecting six people.

Luckily, two off duty doctors and an off duty paramedic stopped immediately after the accident to aid the victims.

Paramedic Darren Smith says, given the situation, emergency crews did a very good job. California Highway Patrol says it didn't look as if the occupants had been wearing their seat belts while they were coming home from work on a farm.

Two victims were airlifted to the hospital.
