A motorcycle rider has died after initially suffering major injuries when his motorcycle crashed into a truck on a windy road Wednesday near Keene.

The accident happened around 11 am Wednesday morning on Tehachapi-Woodford Rd.

According to the California Highway Patrol, 38 year-old John Robert Reeves of Lancaster was heading eastbound around a corner possibly at an unsafe speed and lost control.

He then slid into a flat bed truck traveling in the opposite direction. The impact knocked Reeves off his bike.

Officials say it's just another reminder regardless of speed. These turns can be deadly.

Although he was wearing a helmet, Reeves suffered major injuries. He was airlifted to Kern Medical Center where he later died.

The driver of the truck was not hurt.
