Mentally ill missing man found sleeping near train tracks

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. -- A missing man with mental-health issues was found Thursday morning.

Timmy Mearl Givan Jr., 20, is schizophrenic and has the mentality of a child, according to his father. He got away from his father at the East Hills Wal-Mart on Sunday and ran into the hills barefoot.

Givan was found sleeping near railroad tracks off K Street, according to his father.

He was the second man with mental-health issues to go missing this week. Police are also looking for 35-year-old Charles Irwin Steverson, who was reported missing over the weekend by his mother.

Steverson is described as being 6-foot-5 and 270 pounds. He's not currently taking medication for his condition and may be a danger to himself, according to police.
