Teens charged with shooting girl at SoCal HS
By Associated Press
LONG BEACH, Calif. (AP) — Two 16-year-old boys have been charged as adults for the death of a 16-year-old girl who was shot after a homecoming football game in Long Beach.
Los Angeles County prosecutors say Tom Love Vinson and Daivion Davis were charged Friday with one count each of murder and two counts each of attempted murder. Police say honor student Melody Ross was an innocent bystander who was shot when two groups of gang members had a confrontation Oct. 30 at Woodrow Wilson High School. She died at a hospital. An 18-year-old man and a 20-year-old man were also hospitalized after the shooting but are expected to survive. The suspects are each being held on $3 million bail and are scheduled to be arraigned Friday. Prosecutors say they did not attend Wilson High School. |
