4th arrest made in San Jose Halloween attack
By Associated Press
SAN JOSE, Calif. (AP) — Police have arrested a fourth person in an attack on two San Jose boys who were out trick-or-treating. Investigators believe the victims were mistaken for rival gang members.
Eighteen-year-old Eduardo Cristobal of Milpitas was taken into custody on suspicion of attempted murder Wednesday. A 15-year-old boy and two 16-year-old boys were arrested a day earlier in the Halloween attack. San Jose police say the victims, ages 12 and 13, were trick-or-treating in east San Jose on Saturday night when the group confronted and attacked them. The victims are not gang members, but police say the suspects mistook them for members of a rival faction. The 12-year-old victims remains in critical condition after being shot. His friend has been treated and released for stab wounds. |
