6 hurt in Castro Valley car rampage; man arrested
By Associated Press
CASTRO VALLEY, Calif. (AP) — Castro Valley authorities say a man rammed his car into five people, including a 2-year-old boy, following a dispute with his boyfriend.
The victims sustained injuries ranging from minor wounds to a broken neck. Alameda County Sheriff's Sgt. Scott Dudek says it began Monday evening with an argument between the suspect, 19-year-old Pittsburg man, and his boyfriend over a cell phone and a diamond ring that the suspect was demanding back. The suspect then allegedly drove his car at the man, striking him and hitting four others. The rampage ended after the car crashed into the boyfriend's house. A female passenger in the suspect's car also was hurt when the air bags deployed. The suspect, whose name has not been released, was arrested for felony assault after running from the scene. |
