3-alarm fire destroys upscale home
By BakersfieldNow.com Staff
A 5,000-square-foot home in the Haggin Oaks neighborhood went up in flames Thursday morning.
The three-alarm fire caused more than $1 million in damages, but four people and a family pet were able to safely evacuate, according to the Bakersfield Fire Department. Fire officials initially said the blaze started as a brush fire that spread to a fence and then the roof, but a BFD news release said arson investigators are still trying to determine the cause. The victims names weren't released. |
