4 killed in crash on Highway 58

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — A crash on eastbound Highway 58 near Fairfax Road killed four people Saturday morning.

One of the drivers crossed from westbound to eastbound, causing the crash that killed everyone involved, according to California Highway Patrol Officer Kirk Arnold.

It happened just after 7:30 a.m.

The driver of a van traveling eastbound swerved to avoid slower traffic when he lost control, hit the center divider and went airborne. CHP Officer Marvin Casey said the van then landed on a westbound truck hauling a gardening trailer.

The van's driver was identified as 42-year-old James Luschen of North Las Vegas. The driver of the truck was identified as 22-year-old Yonadan Diaz Inga of Bakersfield. His two passengers were identified as 20-year-old Marino Inga and 27-year-old William Zapaico, both from Boise, Idaho.
