The wet weather didn't keep families from enjoying the 36th annual North of the River Christmas Parade.

Families lined both sides of Chester Avenue Saturday morning to catch a glimpse of Santa Claus. School bands, dance teams, military groups and other local organizations marched down the parade route.

The theme of this year's parade, "Christmas past, remembering 100 years" kicks off Oildale's Centennial celebration.
