BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — Three people were stabbed Tuesday in an apparent home-invasion robbery.

The first-arriving Kern County deputy found a victim sitting in a truck parked in front of a home on Wilson Avenue. The person was covered in blood and suffering from multiple stab wounds, the sheriff's office said.

Two more apparent victims were inside the house. One had been stabbed. The other was not harmed.

They told deputies that two men, who they apparently let into the home, threatened them with knives and told them to tie each other up with duct tape. The would-be robbers for some unknown reason stabbed two of the residents in the process.

One of the residents was able to stab one of the alleged robbers in the face during a struggle, and the men ran off.

The assailants forced their way into a home down the street, ransacked the home and swapped out their bloody clothing, the sheriff's office said.

One of the assailants was arrested after he turned up at San Joaquin Community Hospital for treatment. His name was withheld.

The other suspect's name hasn't been released. He remains outstanding.

The sheriff's office said investigators are looking into whether the suspects previously knew the victims.
