County Supervisors reject animal control funding
By BakersfieldNow.com Staff
The Kern County Board of Supervisors denied a request Tuesday from the Animal Control Department for nearly $500,000 to increase enforcement efforts.
More than 18,000 animals were euthanized last year in Kern County, and animal control officials were seeking financial assistance to reduce stray dogs and cats. County supervisors rejected the request because the state budget hasn't been finalized, they said. |
