Woman killed in San Bernardino County flash flood
By Associated Press
BIG RIVER, Calif. (AP) - A woman is dead after a flash flood in the San Bernardino County town of Big River.
The county coroner's office says Tuesday that Rosemary Genc was found trapped and submerged in a sedan that overturned Monday night when water washed out an isolated road. The 51-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Summer thunderstorms brought heavy rains to the mountains, desert and inland valleys along the California-Arizona border, causing floods that shut down several roads and highways. The San Bernardino County Fire Department reported receiving numerous calls from stranded motorists in the flash flood area. |
