A company that owns five Bakersfield Pizza Huts has tentatively agreed to pay $500,000 to settle a class action lawsuit over allegations of missed meal and rest breaks.

In the suit, the Fresno-based company that operates under the name of California Pizza was accused of understaffing its Pizza Hut restaurants so that employees had to cut short or skip breaks.

An attorney for the company confirmed a settlement had been reached, but decline further comment.
