Orange county authorities are looking for a man they say shot his estranged wife and snatched their 9-year-old son in Lake Forest.

An amber alert has been issued for Ryan Ramos.

Orange County Sheriff's officials say Ryan's father, Lonnie Ramos, opened fire on his estranged wife last night at around 6:30 when she drove to his Lake Forest home to pick up their son for the night. She was taken to a hospital in critical condition.

Authorities believe Ramos and the boy could be traveling in a red convertible Porsche or a Chevy suburban.

The father is believed to be armed and dangerous.
