Alleged killer of Youll Kwon is in court as Kwon is laid to rest
The man accused of killing a local store owner last Friday faced a judge Wednesday afternoon. The alleged murder has caused community outcry over the loss of 51-year-old Youll Kwon.
The suspect, Samuel Ramirez Bravo, was in court facing charges of first degree murder with special circumstances for the murder in the course of a robbery. The charges could carry the death penalty. The Bakersfield Police Department says Bravo confessed to the murder. He also faces two counts of robbery and is a suspect in several other robberies in east Bakersfield and Lamont. Kwon's nephew, David Hong, went to Bravo's arraignment. Bravo's arraignment was continued Wednesday and he is expected back in court on July 9th. Services for Youll Kwon are being held at Hillcrest Memorial Park with a visitation at 5 p.m. and a memorial service at 6 p.m.. The public is invited. |
