Shafter PD: Will driver of hit & run please come forward?
The Shafter Police Department says they are no longer looking for the person of interest surrounding the death of a 17-year-old girl.
Officers say they inspected the car of Christopher Boyland, 28, and determined it was definitely not the vehicle in question. Shafter PD say they do not know which vehicle struck Nancy Medina, but believe it may be possible that she walked into the path of the striking vehicle which was apparently traveling west on east Lerdo Highway. Officers are now encouraging whoever is responsible for causing the crash to come forward. Medina was discovered on east Lerdo Hwy. early Wednesday morning. She was taken to Kern Medical Center where she died from her injuries. An autopsy is being done Thursday. |
