New driver's license bill
A new law that goes into effect today. A new driver's license bill, created by Assemblywoman Nicole Parra.
It requires drivers to sign a declaration when they get a driver's license or when they renew their license. That declaration says the person signing knows that "being under the influence of alcohol or drugs impairs the ability to safely operate a motor vehicle." It also informs the signers that they can be charged with murder if they are involved in a fatal accident while under the influence. |
