21-year-old woman accused of breaking toddler's bones

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — Police have arrested a 21-year-old woman for allegedly abusing a 14-month-old boy.

The investigation began Thursday after officers received a report of a boy with a possible broken leg at a local hospital. The investigation revealed the child had numerous bruises, abrasions,
broken bones and internal bleeding on the brain, police said late Friday.

Lissett Jurado was arrested on suspicion of child endangerment and assault with a deadly weapon. Police didn't give details of how or why the child was hurt.

The boy remains hospitalized with injuries that aren't considered life-threatening, police said.
