BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — More charges have been filed against a Kern County deputy accused of touching young women inappropriately.

Deputy Gabriel Lopez, 26, is now accused of sexual battery against two separate women in back-to-back days last month. Fresh charges of assault under the color of authority, sexual battery and false imprisonment were filed Thursday by the Kern County District Attorney's Office.

Lopez allegedly improperly touched an 18-year-old woman March 26 at her Tehachapi home while on duty and responding to a call of a peace disturbance. He allegedly told the woman he needed to search her for weapons and drugs, the sheriff's office said Friday.

The deputy was previously arrested on allegations he sexually assaulted a 21-year-old Tehachapi woman during a burglary investigation March 25.
