Man arrested on suspicion of human trafficking with 13-year-old Bakersfield girl

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — A 22-year-old man is accused of sexually assaulting a 13-year-old Bakersfield girl and trying to force her into prostitution in Sacramento.

Jerome Henderson was located in Sacramento and arrested. He was transferred to Kern County jail this week, police said Friday.

Henderson contacted the girl in early February, took her to a hotel and forced her into sex acts, police said. He then tried taking the girl up north, but the girl was able to contact police and get away.

Police didn't go into detail for how the girl and Henderson met.

Officers found two other alleged victims, though police didn't give any details of that part of the investigation.

Henderson faces possible charges of human trafficking.
