LAKE ISABELLA, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — The lightning-caused Piute Complex wildfires continued to grow Monday in the Sequoia National Forest.

The Clear Fire was burning 950 acres by late in the day. The Valley View community has 20 homes about 200 yards from the fire. Forest officials said that's the priority.

The Heald Fire has covered 350 acres. Smoke jumpers have been sent into the area to fight the fire.

The fires were about 15 percent contained.

The two fires were initially reported shortly after noon Saturday. Cody Norris of the Sequoia National Forest said the fires were both caused by Friday night's storm.
