2 hurt in multiple crashes on Hwy 99

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) - Two people were hurt in two separate accidents after one person drove their car off the road on Highway 99 early Friday morning.

According to the California Highway Patrol, a person driving near the Highway 58 and Highway 99 interchange veered off the road then hit a guardrail, ejecting the driver.

That driver was taken to a hospital with moderate to major injuries.

The CHP said other cars started to stop, which caused a second accident. At least one person was hurt in that accident and taken to a hospital.

The CHP hasn't said what caused the first accident.
