2 LA-area men busted at Delano drug house

DELANO, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) - Kern County deputies served a search warrant at a home in the 2000 block of Girard Street in Delano after developing information that 27-year-old Paramount resident Israel Corrales and several alleged co-conspirators were involved in trafficking drugs.

Artemio Ramirez, a 37-year-old Los Angeles man, was at the home at the time the search warrant was served. During a search of the home, investigators located about 5 pounds of methamphetamine and a loaded .357 handgun, which appeared to have been discarded by one of the suspects as officers arrived.

Ramirez resisted arrest but was taken into custody after detectives found him hiding in a closet, the sheriff's office said Friday. He was found to have ammunition and a small amount of cocaine in his pocket.

Corrales and Ramirez were arrested on suspicion of drug and weapon crimes.
