Anthony Chacon, 28, was arrested over the weekend by Calexico police on two outstanding warrants. He was moved to the Kern County jail Tuesday, according to a news release from the Bakersfield Police Department.
Chacon was identified by police on May 21 as a suspect in the murder of Ka’mya Robinson. At that time, the department released his picture and a warning that he should be considered armed and dangerous.
In addition to murder, Chacon faces charges in a separate case for vehicle theft, evading and possession of narcotics.
The toddler he's accused of killing was described as an innocent bystander who caught a stray bullet during a fight between two groups of men on Virginia Street. She was playing in her front yard on the 1200 block of Virginia near South Robinson when the fight and resulting shooting occurred.
