Adventure Group goes for Guinness World Record
An adventure team working on setting a Guinness World Record makes a stop at a local ski hill near Wofford Heights.
It's just after six Friday morning at the base of the Alta sierra ski resort...a hint of the sunlight to come peaks through the southern tip of the sierra Nevada mountains. For the across the atlas team its just about time to head up the mountain.
Friday was the team's third day. To set the Guinness World Record they need to reach the peak and ski to the bottom of each of California's 28 ski resorts. All in less than four days. in the process raising money for disabled athletes to compete in the 2010 Para-Olympic Games in Canada.
In 2002, this team raised ten-thousand dollars all for charity by successfully skiing down all 28 Colorado ski resorts in less than four days.
The next stop for the team, Bear Mountain, East of Bakersfield then it's off to the lake Tahoe area where they'll end their attempt and snow summit and snow valley ski resorts.
