Dog attack has NFL star facing fine

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — Four dogs reportedly belonging to NFL star Joey Porter attacked and killed a neighbor's dog on July 2, leading to a citation for Porter.
An animal control spokeswoman said Porter was obviously upset about the attack and apologized to his neighbor. The citation for failing to have the dog on a leash will likely result in a fine for Porter.
It wasn't clear how Porter's dogs got out of their kennel. Spokeswoman Kim Rodriguez said Porter's dogs are large and appear to be half mastiff and half pit bull.
Porter is a Bakersfield native and currently plays linebacker for the Arizona Cardinals.
