BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — A man was arrested Sunday night when officers found him covered in blood inside a home with a dead woman.

Bakersfield police received a 911 call around 10 p.m. from someone reporting a loud, violent struggle in a rented room adjacent to an alley around 1100 Niles Street.

Officers arrived to find 59-year-old Arturo Huerta with blood covering his arms and body, according to the department. A 38-year-old woman, whose name was withheld, was found dead with blunt-force injuries to her head.
