BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — A man surrendered early Monday after an hours-long SWAT standoff.

Howie McClure, 41, was allegedly shooting a gun inside and outside his home on the 300 block of Sperry Street, which is in the area of Fairview Road and South Union Avenue. Kern County deputies were called to the home around 10:30 Sunday night, but McClure refused to come out.

McClure gave up around 1:45 a.m. and was arrested on suspicion of illegally discharging a firearm, according to the sheriff's office.
