BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — Herbert Jernigan said the day after his home burned in November 2011, he called Dish Network to cancel his plan.
Last week, he was billed more than $250 for service on an empty lot.
Wednesday afternoon, Jernigan recalled the day he saw his beloved home engulfed in flames. He and his 90-year-old father barely escaped the blaze.
Nearly eight months later, Jernigan was still getting bills for the satellite TV service, installed on a home that doesn't exist.
He called Eyewitness News for help and got a welcomed call late Wednesday from Dish Network.
