Kern retailers can't keep Wii in stock
By Betsy Lambert, Eyewitness News
BAKERSFIELD, Ca. -- The Nintendo Wii is sold out in stores all over the city.
Stores, such as Wal-Mart and Best Buy, say when the gaming system comes in stock, it flies off the shelves. The Wii has been a video game hit for about four years, and stores here in Kern County still can't keep up with the demand. Eyewitness News wanted to know just how in-demand the gaming systems were, so a reporter made some calls. After calling six places in Bakersfield that sell Wiis, Eyewitness News got the same response: sold out. The results online weren't much better. Eyewitness News called stores from Southern California all the way up to Canada and over to the East Coast. Only one store in Glendale and another in New York said they had a couple Wiis left. |
