$1,000 in UPS packages shipped to wrong home
Bakersfield resident Kathy Hansen talks about Christmas presents she ordered wrongly being shipped to a house in San Jacinto. By Anthony Bailey, Eyewitness News
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. -- In December, Kathy Hansen ordered about $1,000 in Christmas gifts online. By the middle of the month nothing had arrived.
"It came down to Dec. 18, and I hadn't received the packages. I called Crate and Barrel," Hansen said. Hansen learned on that phone call that her gifts were actually shipped to a home in San Jacinto, a small city in Riverside County. She heard the same things from several other businesses. After learning the address, Hansen said a UPS security specialist told her that 75 packages were rerouted to the San Jacinto address, and 11 of those pieces were Hansen's. Eyewitness News learned that in 2008 a 20 year employee of UPS was arrested in Riverside County in a similar incident. Tuesday, UPS officials declined to say if the situations were related. |
